Suzette Quintanilla and her siblings had a keen interest in music from an early age and inherited music from their father, Abraham Quintanilla, who played with the band Los Dinos.
In 1980, Suzette Quintanilla, a teenager, began performing music with her siblings when her father opened his first Tex-Mex restaurant, Papa Gayo, in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Suzette Quintanilla played drums, while her brother, Abraham III, played bass guitar and her sister, Selena, provided vocals.
But his father’s restaurant was closed in a short time because of the recession caused by the excess of oil in the decade of 1980. Due to which the condition of his family became very bad.
The economic market forced the restaurant to close and the family’s financial situation went bankrupt.
